I inhaled three book series with my mini me last year and it was such a great mystery series that now has an on-screen adaption. The series captures the heart and soul of the book and the six-episode season of the first book was so good and satisfying. Can’t wait to see the other two books play out on screen too. I binged watched this in one night and loved it so much.

I was excited to see this as soon as it previewed as it features Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron who are on my must watch everything list. It’s a fun rom com about a vain actor and a widow finding her second act after her daughter grows up. It had just the right amount of slapstick humour, characterisation and romantic tropey scenes. And Efron is a dreamboat. He does the best sad face and is like an action figure. Also, I love seeing actors working together and that Efron and Kidman have paired up again after Paperboy.
Have been hearing buzz about this show for ages and it’s been something I wanted to watch, and oh my lordy, it is so worth it. A satire of the superhero genre this is so in your face, offensive, and insane. I love it. I am compiling a list of my top comical scenes and it just keeps getting longer.
Another ripper read by Gentill who has cooked up yet another delightful mystery that takes you on unexpected twists and turns. It’s so outlandish and yet there is something logical about it that you almost think it could be true. Thoroughly enjoyed The Mystery Writer.
Re-sharing my memoir piece "For years, my best friend was my stand-in parent" published by SBS Voices about one of the most important relationships in my life and exploring Diverse Perspectives on Love and Connection. 35 years on, still besties. sbs.com.au/voices/article/for-years-my-best-friend-was-my-stand-in-parent/gal5dfvsk A sublime dark cerebral show about parallel worlds and the possibilities. So well executed and one that I’m still theorising with my hubby as we deconstruct the lore. Aussie Joel Edgerton is sublime as the main character who is a victim of parallel universes and Jennifer Connolly is amazing, albeit way, way too thin. Must watch.
Knight beautifully charts her experiences a young girl, being raised in a Mormon household, and undergoing medical intervention for her crooked spine. This is a beautiful memoir about finding hope and losing faith, finding your dream and the bonds of family.

Stuff your eReader, not Stuff Your Kindle June 20, 2024 1000 free romance ebooks https://www.romancebookworms.com/ Was looking at my Goodreads stats and my goal is to read 20 books this year and I am behind. I was feeling slightly disheartened, until I realised I'm reading all the time, it's just for my PhD and doesn't count toward my Goodreads widget.
This week I've been wrangling my exegesis again. I submitted a draft in December last year and we had a discussion about it. I hadn't quite landed on my focus. However, that 20,000 words was not wasted. It has helped me clarify what I'm actually saying. So I've spent the past two months writing a new introduction and planning a new structure that I've just sent to my supervisors ahead of our meeting next week. At this point I feel like what I want to say is there and not going to change, it's just finding the best way to present it in terms of theoretical approaches. I have written my creative component and have it with an editor, so once I'm hoping to use the second half of the year to smash out my exegesis and submit. Fingers crossed it all comes together!!!! Also an update about the two articles I wrote last week. The contracted one is all good, just might have some light edits and the payment has landed in my bank account. The requested is still up in the air. I so hate following up so I'm going to leave it for a little bit longer. Usually what happens is I get an adrenaline surge sometime near bed time and then I can send a follow up email unselfconsciously, LOL!.
