Keeping Kids Connected: How to play Cluedo and Uno over Facetime
Thousands (millions?) of kids around the world are struggling with being isolated from their friends. So, it’s really important we help them stay connected with their friends via phone calls, letters, emails and Facetime!
My daughter Ava’s good friend Kate was kind enough to write out how to play Cluedo and Uno over Facetime. Here you go!
How to play FaceTime Cluedo
1. Start a FaceTime up making sure that one person has a Cluedo board.
2. The person that had the Cluedo board then calls out the suspects, the objects and the rooms. Everyone else then writes down these things on a blank piece of paper.
3. Everyone except one person closes their eyes while the person with the board deals the cards out normally and holds the cards up to the screen so the one person whose card is being shown can write down what they have. They will then also cross off what they have on their other piece of paper.
4. Do this for everyone that is playing and make sure that everyone has two dice.
5. On your turn, roll two dice and add the numbers up. The person that has the board will then tell you which rooms you can go into with that number.
6. When making an accusation, say it to everyone and the person who is then showing you a card will then hold the card up to the screen while everyone else turns away. If it is not the person who has the board they will fold their piece of paper until the only thing they’re going to show is visible.
7. When guessing the actual suspect, object and room, say this and while everyone turns away. The person with the board turns away as well but shows the actual cards to the screen for the person who has guessed. If they get it right they will say so and the game is over. If they got it wrong they will tell no one what it what it was and are now out of the game.
How to play FaceTime UNO
1. Set up a FaceTime with all the players.
2. Everyone playing must have a deck of UNO cards.
3. They will then deal themselves seven cards each.
4. One person will take a random card from their deck and hold it for the screen and tell everyone what it is. This will be the starting card.
5. Take turns holding one of your cards up to the screen and saying what they are, making sure the card you hold up is in sequence to the person who held it up before you.
6. Play normally until one person has gotten rid of all their cards.
