https://thewestsider.com.au/your-cultural-heritage-is-a-strength-when-writing-authentic-ya-narratives/ I watched Argyle in the cinema and had such a great time. It's so much fun. I'm not fond of spy movies, unless they are comedies, so here are my top three favourite spy comedy movies.
Argyle A woman has the ability to tell the future and a secret spy organisation is hunting her down, while a rogue spy is trying to save her life. A stylish and fun spy movie that uppends all your expectations and where the motto “the bigger the spy, the bigger the lie,” is a promise and a prediction. Spy Melissa McCarthy is superb in this spy movie that subverts all the rules of the genre. I have re-watched this so many times and each time laughed so hard. It has a great thread about female empowerment and friendship. The Long Kiss Goodnight An amnesiac who has lived a life as a suburban mother finds out she has a secret deadly past. This has so many quips and one liners that I laugh at every single time I watch this, which is about 10 times now, and a heartfelt thread about motherhood that makes me cry. |
