View here.   On the 11 July 1995 the siege of Srebrenica ended in the massacre of 8,372 men. Today is the anniversary of that date when we remember the massacre and those that were lost. I got to write about teachers that inspired me and about being a teacher myself now. I've been grappling with my PhD exegesis for the past six months and have had many sleepless nights. Finally, I've got it. I have my research question, the makings of the first chapter, and my whole thesis planned. Feeling so relieved. My 80,000 creative component, a novel, is already complete so it's just the 20,000 exegesis to compliment that I need to write. Wouldn't have come so far without so many wonderful women supporting me. My supervisors Claire Knowles and Catherine Padmore. Last night I delivered my mid-candidature presentation and my good friends Kimberley Starr and Vikki Petraitis were there to support me. They are the reason I embarked on this journey as it was always on my bucket list to complete a PhD. We're all teachers and authors and together we are the Antigones. They have cheered me and supported me and I am so lucky to have them to share this journey with. One day, we will be on a stage together in our lovely bonnets and gowns. Can't wait!!!!
