tv show: dark matter on apple

30/6/2024

A sublime dark cerebral show about parallel worlds and the possibilities. So well executed and one that I’m still theorising with my hubby as we deconstruct the lore. Aussie Joel Edgerton is sublime as the main character who is a victim of parallel universes and Jennifer Connolly is amazing, albeit way, way too thin. Must watch.

review: strange little girl by jessica knight

Knight beautifully charts her experiences a young girl, being raised in a Mormon household, and undergoing medical intervention for her crooked spine. This is a beautiful memoir about finding hope and losing faith, finding your dream and the bonds of family.

Writing and reading update

20/6/2024

Was looking at my Goodreads stats and my goal is to read 20 books this year and I am behind. I was feeling slightly disheartened, until I realised I'm reading all the time, it's just for my PhD and doesn't count toward my Goodreads widget.

This week I've been wrangling my exegesis again. I submitted a draft in December last year and we had a discussion about it. I hadn't quite landed on my focus. However, that 20,000 words was not wasted. It has helped me clarify what I'm actually saying.

So I've spent the past two months writing a new introduction and planning a new structure that I've just sent to my supervisors ahead of our meeting next week. At this point I feel like what I want to say is there and not going to change, it's just finding the best way to present it in terms of theoretical approaches.

I have written my creative component and have it with an editor, so once I'm hoping to use the second half of the year to smash out my exegesis and submit. Fingers crossed it all comes together!!!!

Also an update about the two articles I wrote last week. The contracted one is all good, just might have some light edits and the payment has landed in my bank account. The requested is still up in the air. I so hate following up so I'm going to leave it for a little bit longer. Usually what happens is I get an adrenaline surge sometime near bed time and then I can send a follow up email unselfconsciously, LOL!.

Happy writing and reading to you all!!!!!

writing update

14/6/2024

Just had an amazing day in my writing studio with my muse awake and twirling, and just being magical.

Have an article under contract that I wrote, and then one I had a request for. Wrote both, and while I love them both, the second one nearly brought me to tears because I was feeling it so hard.

So now it's just a matter of how they hit with the editors. Regardless, though, I am just feeling so happy and at peace. The last few months have been really stressful and then report writing is a whole other thing, and each time I get through it, I feel born anew.

Hope you're all having a wonderful week and the muse is kind and full of joy!!!!!!!

Also it's been a lovely week the launch of the romance anthology I'm in and sharing pretty graphics about my romance novella!!!!! So go and buy it!!!!!!

Last chance to get for 99c!
