Was looking at my Goodreads stats and my goal is to read 20 books this year and I am behind. I was feeling slightly disheartened, until I realised I'm reading all the time, it's just for my PhD and doesn't count toward my Goodreads widget.
This week I've been wrangling my exegesis again. I submitted a draft in December last year and we had a discussion about it. I hadn't quite landed on my focus. However, that 20,000 words was not wasted. It has helped me clarify what I'm actually saying. So I've spent the past two months writing a new introduction and planning a new structure that I've just sent to my supervisors ahead of our meeting next week. At this point I feel like what I want to say is there and not going to change, it's just finding the best way to present it in terms of theoretical approaches. I have written my creative component and have it with an editor, so once I'm hoping to use the second half of the year to smash out my exegesis and submit. Fingers crossed it all comes together!!!! Also an update about the two articles I wrote last week. The contracted one is all good, just might have some light edits and the payment has landed in my bank account. The requested is still up in the air. I so hate following up so I'm going to leave it for a little bit longer. Usually what happens is I get an adrenaline surge sometime near bed time and then I can send a follow up email unselfconsciously, LOL!. Happy writing and reading to you all!!!!!
