The end on Jesse’s Triumph, the third novel in my young adult series titled Sassy Saints. This is the fastest book I have finished because I had the luxury of time. I wrote the crappy first draft of 40K during National Novel Writing Month in November. The past two weeks I’ve been on long service leave from teaching and going to my writing studio every day where I could spend the day writing, between school pick and drop off. It felt like the novel wrote itself and at 64,500 worlds, it’s only slightly longer than the word count of 60,000 words I was aiming for. As a chronic over-writer, this is significant progress. Drink of choice, French Earl Grey Tea. Yum.
