A Cultural Diversity Week event Growing up Muslim in Australia celebrates diversity, achievement, courage and determination while dispelling myths and stereotypes. The book is widely used in the Australian school curriculum and was short-listed for both the 2015 Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Award and the Eve Pownell Award for information books. This chat will dive into the book’s honest and heartfelt stories and how they were all bought together and will be facilitated by Bruno Lettieri. Thursday again, my day off and an opportunity to revel in my author identity.
Last week: ★I submitted the completed article to a third outlet ★I pitched three article ideas to the editor who contacted me ★And I pitched two articles to the editor who passed, but asked me to pitch. This week I received three commissions from this. The completed article is still doing the rounds. I'll keep pushing with it. Have a lot great things going on and am enjoying the ride. Brimbank Writers Festival is promoting the festival on all its screens and I'm enjoying being a mini celebrity as people tell me they saw my face on community screens.
