Tell me you're middle aged without telling me. Here's me-and my bed. I now have six standard pillows, two super large cushions and 4 small cushions on my bed. Every morning my process is making my bed and stacking my pillows on the bed so that they take up half the bed.
Today is my day off and usually I'd go to my writing studio, but my daughter is home sick and I'm still under the weather so I'm staying home instead. I lie back amongst my pillow fort, arranging them so they are propping me up, one on my lap to hold my laptop, the others to my side, as comfy props. When I watch tv in my bedroom I lie amidst the pillows like they're a large bean bag and sigh with dreamy happiness. And when I read I use one pillow on my lap to prop up the book and the side cushions to lie against in interesting poses. When I have a nana nap I like to leave them on the bed and arrange them so that they are a cuddle fort. And when I sleep at night I use arrange all of the cushions on the floor around my bed, and sleep with three pillows, one behind me bed, one between my legs as I lie on my side, and one to cuddle against and hold me up. I don't know when so many pillows became part of my life. I had thoughts that I would buy new pillows and replace old ones, and yet have instead just kept adding them. Somehow they have become a part of my happiness and joy as I use my bed for various recreational activities.
