reality check

​Some days it feels like the writing life is a bit lacklustre and I'm not moving ahead. It is on these days that my News and Events page becomes important to give me a realistic overview of my achievements. So far this year:
​

• I delivered two workshops and appeared at three events
• Had four articles published
• Was featured in four different media opportunities
• Had three books published, one in a romance anthology That One Summer, Jesse's Triumph the third in my young adult series, and my romance audiobook Hollywood Dreams
• I have been inching through my PhD by doing reading and writing and thinking
• And then there is the writing that I'm doing toward my next books by preparing my three book crime series for release. Today I had the fun of working on covers for bonus content and preparing blurbs and taglines.

I've been maintaining this page since 2012, so 12 years now, and it's such a buzz to see how each year I've been getting more traction with my writing, publishing and promoting.

It's also really expanded since I started working part time in my day job and have had one day to dedicate to my writing practice.

So the advice I have for any emerging writers:

• Track your achievements-both public and personal. 
• Remember it's a marathon and not a sprint. The longer you dedicate to your craft, the more you will achieve.
